Tallinn Airport: A Cargo Success
The development of Tallinn International Airport is now being encouraged to meet a larger success during the upcoming summer season.
Tallinn Airport recently achieved a great honor, based on cargo department, handling over 21,000 tons of cargo in transit which was more than what Riga and Vilnius Airport put together did.
The result was possible since Tallinn Airport provides significant warehouses for handing large cargo aircraft, a specialization that obliged both Riga and Vilnius Airport to focus more on passenger transport.
While Tallinn Airport achieved such a success on cargos, the number of passenger at the airport fell to 83,945 in January which was less than last year by 8.5.
However, the problem of falling number of passengers should soon be fixed since a solution seems to be already found.
Rein Loik, Chairman of Tallinn Airport, stated that “I hope that starting from April with the beginning of the summer season we will experience a serious growth thanks to the new lines being opened by Lufthansa, LOT and other airlines.”
