Ex Bank Employee Confessed 16 Robberies in Tallinn

A former bank employee confessed taking part in at least 16 armed robberies, mainly of casinos in Tallinn since 2007.

The 41 years old man who now is unemployed, was arrested six months ago after a robbery in a Tallinn branch of Sampo bank, after the investigators suspected the thief should have been someone familiar with the bank security systems seen the dynamic of the events.

Investigators focused on the suspect, who also worked for the Estonian National Reserve, and then, after some tests, they managed to link his DNA to several armed casino robberies in Tallinn in 2007-2009.

According with the Prosecutor Toomas Tomberg last Wednesday’s statements, “The suspect has confessed fully his involvement in all these robberies”.

All the robberies targeted well known casinos from Tallinn for sums up to 10.000 euro.
