According to the numbers released by the European Court of Human Rights, the complaints against Estonia submitted in 2009 increased by one fifth if compared to 2008, reaching the number of 204.

Most of the complaints have been submitted for protesting against unreasonably long procedures, different aspects of criminal proceedings and forced medical treatment of persons and similar issues and more than a half ( 169) of them were deleted from the list of cases since they were considered to be unacceptable.

Estonia as also three complaints currently running against the country at the United Nations Human Rights Committee as explained to the Parliament by the Estonian Minister of Foreign Affair  Urmas Paet today.
