Not Enough Flights for the European Film Academy Gala

After many discussions about the availability of a consistent budget for the event, the European Film Academy gala event is threatened by the shortage of flights.

With the closure of some international routes and the shortage of direct flights for reaching Tallinn from some of the main European cities as Rome, Paris or Berlin, the prestigious event scheduled for the end of 2010 might see many of its potential guests unable to reach the Estonian capitol city.

To solve the inconvenient, the German organizers of the event already started negotiations with the national carrier Estonian Air discussing two possible solutions that include the creation of extraordinary flights for the event or the possibility to flight all the guests to Helsinki where Estonian Air would send bigger planes than usual from bringing then the passengers to Tallinn.

Nothing on the issue came from the Latvian airline AirBaltic even if the importance of the Gala scheduled for December the 4th and the decision of Tallinn airport to lower its fees might represent a tasty chance for the white and green airline to confirm its aggressive expansion policy and start increasing its presence in the Estonian market.
