Free Summer School on Religion & Secularism in Italy
The Austrian IWM – Institute for Human Sciences invites forty graduate students and young postdoctoral researchers in the humanities or social sciences to take part in the Summer School within the Institute’s research focus on “Religion & Secularism”. It will provide a forum for study and discussion with leading scholars on major questions and challenges related to the topic.
The event will take place in the Italian historical city of Cortona during the first half of July and includes several seminars and readings with top public figures such as the former Italian Prime Minister Giuliano Amato.
Each of the seminars will be in English and will meet Monday through Friday. Participants are required to enroll in three seminars.
There is no tuition for the Summer School since course materials, room and full board will be provided (accommodation in double rooms, single rooms are available for an extra charge) by the organizators, yet participants are responsible to cover travel costs to and from Cortona and all other incidental expenses.
Applications will have to be submitted in English together with a curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation (max. 5 pages) by March 25th.
