Estonia’s payment to NATO increases
NATO defence ministers agreed upon increasing the budget of the alliance, meaning that Estonia’s membership fee will increase by 2-3 mln kroons, Postimees Online reports.
Estonian defence minister Jaak Aaviksoo attended the unofficial meeting of NATO defence minsters in Turkey that ended on Friday and decided to increase the budget of NATO.
The ministers also discussed the future of NATO fast reaction forces and the Afghanistan operation.
Aaviksoo proceeds from Istanbul to the annual security conference Wehrkunde in Munich and on Sunday he starts, together with Defence League chief Raivo Lumiste, a two-day visit to Kosovo.
