The newest shopping mall, Solaris, has been rewarded with the Tallinn Culture Act 2009 and  with 25,000 kroon, given to Peeter Rebane, the developer of the Solaris Center on 26th January,2010.

Despite, the shocking news of dropped ceiling of Solaris cinema is still on the mind – and jokes…- of almost everyone in Tallinn, the good news of Solaris being awarded seems to be a pleasant replacement for the bad start of the mall.

The fabulous decoration and the creative types of Nokia Concert Hall, Cinamon cinema, art gallery, dance studio and jazz club of Solaris shopping and entertainment complex were the reason of achieving the great award of year, Tallinn Culture Act which has been granted annually by the municipality from 2005.

Beside, the other rewarded acts were granted to Helen Sildna’s festival Tallinn Music Week and the Estonian Museum Union (Kadriorg Park and Tallinn City Museum) which organized cultural events as well.
