“Estonian Unemployment Will Not Increase as in 2009″

While discussing the plans for 2010, the Estonian economy and communications minister Juhan Parts told news portal Delfi that the priority of the government is to achieve a balance between disappearance and appearance of jobs creating the possibilities for new jobs to start emerging.

As reported by LETA, Mr. Parts declared that “The scenario to work for is for more jobs to emerge than disappear and that break-point should be in 2010.”

Parts also explained that Estonia should not see unemployment rate increasing as it happened during 2009 but that, instead, some tens thousands of new jobs might start appearing bringing new air – and hope – to the labor market.

“The priority of the government is to perk up and develop entrepreneurship and in 2010 state investments in entrepreneurship increase,” he said even if he preferred not to explicit any precise number about the efforts planned by the government nor any concrete forecast about what Estonians and foreign investors should expect for the next twelve months.
