A Week To Decide for Estonian Air
“It is important for Estonia to preserve air connections with destinations that are strategically important for us,” said Kalev Vapper, head of public relations at the Ministry of Economics while commenting the imminent talks about the future of Estonian Air scheduled for the next week.
As reported by Latvian news agency LETA, in a week time a delegation from the Estonian Ministry of Economics headed by the deputy chancellor Ahti Kuningas will fly to Stockholm to understand what are the plans made by SAS in regards of its Estonian Air stakes.
“Estonia wishes in the aviation to cooperate with Scandinavia’s leading aviation firm SAS in the future too; cooperation can also mean that the Estonian state and SAS will both continue to be among owners of Estonian Air,” said Vapper to Estonian daily Postimees on the issue.
Estonian Air is ownership is currently shared by three main actors: SAS (49%), Estonian State (34%) and Cresco Bank (17%).
