The summer was the most popular time as in July the Port of Tallinn welcomed a total of 114,537 passengers than came in 80 cruise ships. Even in July 19 there were six cruise ships in the port at the same time.

Seeing this success, Scandinavian ferry operator Viking Line has offered to its customers a special Christmas offer consisting in Helsinki-Tallinn cruises at 5 euro. This offer is only valid from Finland to Estonia.

While the tourism by sea has grown considerably, the number of British tourist in Estonia went down 70% this year, according with the UK statistical office.

The main reasons of this fall of British tourist are the earlier economic recession of UK, the decline of the number of connections between the two countries and the strength to the British pound at the euro and the Estonian Kroon.
