NordStream Project Approved by Finland and Sweden
Finally, the NordStream natural gas pipeline has received the approval from the authorities of Finland and Sweden to pass through its waters in the Baltic Sea.

However it must wait the decision taken by Finish environmental authorities
After Denmark became the first country to authorize the Project and this approval of the two Scandinavian countries, it would only remain signing the agreement by Germany and Russia, which would not present major problems as both countries are the principal supporters.
However, before this last action, it must wait the decision taken by Finnish environmental authorities, expected by spring 2010
Estonian Parliament put already obstacles to the pipeline to pass through its waters after considering that it would bring environmental problems. Moreover, Estonian Fund for Nature filed a court action to deny the permission that Western Finland Permitting authority granted to pose the pipeline on the seabed belongs to Finland.
The construction of this 1200km pipeline, that has cost 12$ billion, is planned to start in spring 2010, after the OK given by Finland and Sweden Governments have been very positive for the final completion of the project.
