La Scala is (almost) in Tallinn
Major opera night to bring the opening performance of the new season of La Scala to the Estonian public.
On December 7, the Nokia Concert Hall will host a live broadcast of Georges Bizet’s Carmen, the opening performance of the new season of the world-famous opera house La Scala. Sale of tickets to the opera season’s premiere event will start on Friday, August 28.
Priit Mikk, producer of BDG Music, the organizer of the opera night, said that the state-of-the art technology of the would-be Nokia Concert Hall will ensure a cultural experience worthy of the world’s best-known opera house and impressive high-tech quality.
“The grand opening of the La Scala opera season is a major event of Europe’s cultural circles and the first time that our opera friends are able to attend it without leaving Tallinn,” said Mikk, according to whom the organizers attempt to give the public not only a top opera experience, but also create a festive atmosphere worthy of an opening night. The direct broadcast will be opened by Arne Mikk who has staged Carmen in National Opera Estonia and is a frequent visitor in La Scala. The opera night will be given more dazzle by Martell cognac as a sponsor.
