Estonian Minister of Defense  Jaak Aaviksoo will meet next Tuesday with U.S. Defense Secretary

Are we all sure that NATO can be the answers to Estonian security problems?

Are we all sure that NATO can be the answers to Estonian security problems?

Robert Gates to discuss new plans to protect the country from threats such as terrorism, cyber warfare or conventional military attacks.

Facts as the Russian invasion in Georgia happened one year ago or the cyber attack suffered in 2007 coinciding with the Bronze Soldier controversy have been the trigger for Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia -  all members of NATO alliance – to jointly ask for a stronger and more effective presence of NATO and US forces in their territories.

Also the case of Herman Simm, who was sentenced last February to 12 and a half years in prison for spying and continuosly passing sensitive informations to Moscow, has raised cautions in Estonia and NATO for security concerns.
