A study from the International Economic Forum spoke about gender discrimination on wages in Estonia: do you agree?

According to the annual report on gender equality issued by the International Economic Forum in Estonia, woman’s wages are only about 60 percent of the salaries of men performing the same work, and on this indicator, Estonia covers the 98th among 134 countries taken into analysis.

Estonia confirmed last year’s 37th position in the overall rating of gender equality as the news portal ERR Uudised.
The report evaluated gender equality on the basis of 14 different indicators and the study rewarded Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden assigning to these countries the top four positions of the chart.

A comment on the issue came from the head of the department dedicated to gender equality in the Ministry of Social Affairs, Kadi Wiik who pointed out how, according to EuroStat, the difference between the average hourly wages of men and women in Estonia is the largest in the European Union as men receive a wage 30% higher than women.
