About 6% of drivers passing the Tallinn-Tartu highway exceed the speed limit that is 90km / h. This was the conclusion of the evidences displayed by 16 speed cameras installed on this road, one of the most heavily used in Estonia.

By the moment the cameras are just being tested to see if the data exchange works well and to see whether they can be functioning 24 hours a day, but from December the police will start to use this data to process all the speed violations.

Throughout this year it have been a total of 1163 traffic accidents on the country roads, with 1495 injured persons and 76 persons killed.

Counting from 1990, the year with more traffic accidents was 2006 with 2585, while the year with more deaths on the roads was 1991 when 491 people died.
