FLARE Campaign “Season of Legality”

The first European social campaign for the social fight against organized crime begins on March 21 and ends on May 12, promoted by the FLARE Network and Libera

FLARE Network, the first European network made of civil societies organizations for the social fight against organized crime, announces the launch of “Season of Legality”, the very first European campaign for the social fight against organized crime. “Season of Legality” begins on March 21 in Naples, Italy, in occasion of the “XIV Day in Memory of Victims of Organized Crime”.

“Season of Legality” counts 33 events organized by the FLARE members to be held in 28 European and non-European countries. After the first event in Naples, “Season of Legality” moves on to Turin, Italy,on March 22-23 for the opening of the “Dice” – a hosting community for Roma families – and to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on March 24.

“Season of Legality” intends to fulfil three objectives:

1. to have the European Parliament proclaim March 21 “European Day in Memory of Victims of Organized Crime”;
2. to have the European Parliament support European civil society in the social fight against organized crime;
3. to urge the European Commission and the Council of Europe to legislate in the matter of social reuse of properties confiscated to organized crime groups.
